WHO and the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) will be holding a National Training Workshop on Vaccine Preventable Diseases in Swakopmund, Erongo region from 28 May – 2 June 2017.

WHO will also be joining the Regional Training Workshop on School Health in Eenhana, Ohangwena region, from 28 May – 2 June 2017.

WHO will be conducting the National Workshop for Dissemination of Findings of the 2016 National EmONC Assessment & Consultation on Development of the Integrated RMNCAH Roadmap/Strategy (2017-2021), from 29-31 May 2017 at Safari Hotel in Windhoek.

UN Namibia, along with its various partners, will be convening the first consultative meeting on the Development Partnership Dialogue in order to discuss issues related to the structure, terms of reference, membership as well as frequency of meetings for the Dialogue. The Dialogue will be held on 30 May 2017 under the theme ‘Partnering Towards Prosperity’. Continue reading

UN Namibia launch UN70 under theme: Youth, Development & Poverty

press launch 5On Friday, 9 October 2015, the United Nations System in Namibia hosted a press briefing to officially launch UN70 commemorative events in Namibia under the theme unique to Namibia, “Youth, Development & Poverty.”

The speakers addressing the media included the UN Resident Coordinator, Ms. Anita Kiki Gbeho, Honourable Minister Bishop Zephania Kameeta, Minister of Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare as well as Mr. Kapere, Chairperson of the Board and Executive Chairperson of the National Youth Council. The United Nations Country Team in Namibia which comprise of all the heads of agencies were also in attendance and ready to engage with the media on the UN70 milestone as well as their various agency mandates. Mr. Patrick Haingura, Acting Director for the Youth Directorate was also in attendance to share the platform with the UN System. Continue reading
