United Nations Namibia Early Childhood Development Toddler Meeting

The United Nations Office of the Resident Coordinator in Namibia hosted a toddler meeting at the UN House on the 20th of April 2018. The toddler meeting  was attended by 6 toddlers from the age of 3-6, from the Little Penguins Pre-Primary School Windhoek, as well as by other heads of UN Agencies and the Kenyan High Commissioner to Namibia.

The meeting was centered on early childhood development, to provide insights to the children on the work of the UN House. Ms. Kiki Gbeho, the Resident Coordinator in Namibia, read a moral story to the children, encompassing the UN values, and focusing on fairness, equality and helping the most vulnerable. The goal was to give the children a realistic impression of the work of the UN. She also led a discussion with the toddlers on the importance of being good, fair and willing to share.

The children received UN material as well as goodies and refreshments. The meeting ended with a brief tour to the UNICEF Office and was concluded with a photo session.
